THE CHALLENGES IN THE DESIGN
Most of these properties started with steep grades, erosion issues, and yards that were difficult—or impossible—to use. Our challenge was to design terraced landscaping walls that stabilized the hillside while still feeling open and inviting. That meant calculating correct wall heights, adding geogrid where needed, tying in stairs and paths, and carefully managing water flow so every level drains properly and stays dry and safe.
The terraced walls turned a steep hill into multiple usable levels. Now we have planting beds, a sitting area, and a yard that finally feels finished.
THE FINAL LANDSCAPE WALL DESIGN
For each project in this gallery, we combined structure and style—using block, stone, and integrated steps to create terraces that make sense for how the family actually uses the space. Planting pockets soften the walls, lighting adds evening ambiance, and railings or edges are added where needed for safety.
